The Mount Pearl Paradise Skate Club is a volunteer organization.  The progression and success of our skating club and the programs offered rely heavily on the participation of volunteers.   We are always looking for volunteers.  As the saying goes – ‘Many hands make light work!’  There are numerous events that take place throughout the regular skating season that require involvement from volunteers.

Pre-CanSkate / CanSkate Programs

The success of our  Pre-CanSkate and CanSkate programs largely depends on the volunteer efforts of our younger skaters.  Our younger skaters volunteer their time, in addition to their own individual skating sessions, to assist with these programs.  They support the professional coaches during the Pre-Can and CanSkate sessions and offer guidance and assistance to our younger skaters.

Test Days and Competitions

Throughout the regular skating season (October to April), our club is responsible for hosting selected competitions and regional test days.  We generally reach out to our Junior – Senior skaters, Adult Skaters and parents for assistance in the delivery of these events.  Test Days and Competitions will be posted on the website and announced on Facebook in advance, along with a request for volunteers.   Volunteers are required to assist with registration, hospitality, music, ice captains, runners and to help mind any fundraising activities.   A one or two hour commitment for these events goes along way.

Volunteer Hours

Students looking for career hours are more than welcome to volunteer with our skating club.  Please email  if you are interested.

Annual Ice Show

A lot of work and effort goes into the coordination of our year end annual ice show.  Volunteers are required to chaperone CanSkate groups during the shows, coordinate costumes and communications with the Pre-Junior – Senior Groups, sell brochures, work fundraising tables, and assist with ice-show set up and tear down.

There is nothing more rewarding then seeing the accomplishments of our young skaters, knowing that the volunteer efforts of the skating community, continue to make this possible!  If you or someone you know is interested in volunteering with our club please email.

Thank-you
