    Avalon Region Seminar - Jan 3-5, 2018

    The Avalon Region will be hosting a seminar from January 3-5th, 2018 with guest coach Alexei Mishin. The Seminar is open to skaters in Star 6 to Gold Star Skate Levels and PreJuvenile, Juvenile, PreNovice, Novice and all higher competitive levels.

    Canada 150 Skating Day - Sun Dec 10th

    Show your love for skating on December 10th!

    Hey Canada! On Sunday, December 10, 2017, let’s skate from coast to coast to coast! We are at home on the ice so let’s lace up together to enjoy our favourite winter activity and to celebrate the completion of the Canada 150 year.

    Canada Heritage invites communities across the country to join together in a nationwide skating party!

    The Canada 150 Skating Day, for Newfoundland, will be held at Mile One Centre on Sunday December 10th, from 2 pm – 4 pm!

    This skate is FREE of charge!

    Winter Registration will take place on a first come first serve basis on Saturday November 25th at the Glacier 1 Viewing Room.

    Directions to the Viewing Room – turn right after you enter the Glacier Main Entrance, go to end of the Hallway

    December 2nd 8:30am - 11:30am

    December 9th 8:30am - 11:30am

    December 16th 8:30am - 11:30am

    After each Saturday Registration session we will post the sessions that have spaces remaining.

  • 2018 Sectional Competition

    Congratulations Skaters

    Congrats to all our skaters that participated in the 2018 SCNL Sectional Competition Nov 10 & 11 at the Glacier!

    Our skaters were certainly shining this weekend!

    The Polaris Artistic Cup (awarded to the most artistic skater in the competition) went to Rachael Tuff.

    The Sectional Award of Merit (awarded to the skater with the most outstanding performance during the competition) went to Katie Slaney.

  • Town of Paradise Job Action & Impact on Programming

    The Town of Paradise have advised that effective 6:00 a.m. Monday, October 23, 2017, bargaining unit employees are on lockout status with the Town.

    During the lockout all Town recreational facilities are closed, including Paradise Double Ice Complex.

    At this time MPPSC is unaware of how long this will impact our programming. We are unable to secure ice time in other arenas to accommodate our sessions or move skaters to sessions at the Glacier.

    We apologize for the inconvenience. This matter is completely out of our control - we will update as information becomes available.
